Halo TV series cast

Probably as a reminder that the Halo TV series is happening, Showtimes has revealed new cast members today.

The show will be based on the Halo video game, where Master Chief, an advanced soldier, will have to fight against an alien race called Covenant. A bit more precisely, he will meet Kwan Ha, played by Yerin Ha,  on a planet and that will change both of their lives … somehow. I hope to have more details about that because I have a hard time to see how a 16 years-old will fit in the story and help a super soldier to win a war.

The most important news is probably Natascha McElhone being cast as Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of the Spartan projects and as Cortana, the AI helping Master Chief.

Then we have Bokeem Woodbine who will play Soren-066, a privateer who will be in conflict with Master Chief, played by Pablo Schreiber
Other confirmed actors are Bentley Kalu as Spartan Vannak-134. Natasha Culzac as Spartan Riz-028 and Kate Kennedy as Spartan Kai-125.

Shabana Azmi will play Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

The show will get 9 episodes and be shot this year for a released in 2021.

I am not sure how I feel about that. It looks like making TV series based on a video game is a new trend (even if the Witcher said it would be based on the books).  However,  movies have already shown multiple time how hard it is to get a video game right. I will get fingers crossed and hope that the Halo TV series will be a very nice show to enjoy!
